questions

Can anyone participate in the climb?
You must be an active or retired firefighter, career or volunteer, to participate as a climber.  However, there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes so if you are interested in participating as a volunteer or sponsor, click on  our "SUPPORT" tab.

How much does it cost to climb?
Registration cost is going to $45.  THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS FROM REGISTRATION.  Any proceeds from non participating registrations will go to FDNY Fire Family Transport Foundation.

What do I need to bring to climb?
Climbers are required to provide their own turnout gear and         SCBA to participate.

Do I have to wear full turnout and SCBA in order to participate?
The intent of the climb is to not only memorialize those who         perished on 9/11 but for climbers to also experience what that     day must have been like, climbing those stairs.  Participants are    encouraged to wear turnout and SCBA through as much of the     climb as possible.

How do I prepare?
The Wichita 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb has a                "Suggested Workout" for participants.  It is geared around             someone starting to prepare 10 weeks in advance of the             climb.  It is merely a suggestion to help climbers prepare and     certainly is not required.  Click on the "More" tab and then "How Can I Prepare".
